Doors are the most effective way of preventing access to areas of your home that may not be bunny proofed but a curious your bunny will always want to know what's happening on the other side which over time can lead to some real damage in there efforts to trying to gnaw and dig there way through to find out.
Setup your stereo or TV's speakers in as secure and inaccessible place as possible and always remember to void placing thing onto them that could get knocked off if nudged of the cables are tugged. Also shield any exposed cables at the back of the speakers and hide the rest out of reach or under rugs or carpet.
Mains powered TVs and stereos must be made inaccessible to be safe. Place it out of reach on a shelf making sure the power leads cannot be accessed or in a cabinet that protects it from all sides. Try placing the TV in front of the plug and block the sides with some board or Perspex sheeting.
Many house plants are poisons which can result in a costly visit to the vets. Its best to move any plants in reach or in areas where there leaves can fall onto the floor or surfaces that can be accessed well out the way. Make sure you provide lots of tasty and safe alternatives to supplement your Bunnies diet.
Over time your skirting boards can become damaged. They are tempting because they are exposed in areas where you don't find any natural distractions making them a target for unwanted destructive behaviour. There's is no one solution but damage can be limited through a combination of deterrents, discipline and providing tempting alternatives.
Its normal for your bunny to want to use the natural divides between areas to hide and run behind. Floor length curtains are perfect for this and can become damaged at points along there length by your bunny trying to create little clear areas it can pop in and out of. You can avoid this by having them taken out of reach.
The corners of soft wooden furniture or table legs that extends to the ground in the paths that your bunny choose to take through your home can become very damaged through casual gnawing as your bunny passes by them. Furniture make of hard materials or rounded surfaces survive a lot better in the long run.
Its imposable to supervise your bunny 100% of the time but it only takes an instance for your bunny to cut through the insulation of the power cable and for the wires to be exposed which can be fatal. With all electrical devices always check they are unplugged if not the only safe option is to make them inaccessible.
There are many types of problems associated with your sofa aside from the damage to the upholstery. They can also be dangerous if your bunny gets trapped behind or under them them or worse finds a way inside them. Reclining sofas can also cause injury as your bunny could gets trapped in the mechanism.
