To a house rabbit plants are essentially food and it’s unlikely that you are going to be able to stop them from eating them if they can be reached. Unfortunately many house plants can also be toxic so bunny proofing is essential to not only protecting the plants from your rabbit but to protect your rabbit from unsuspectingly eating something and making itself unwell.
Some house plants can be very toxic or even prove deadly if eaten by your rabbit.
You can find it very hard to dissuade a hungry or even just curious rabbit from eating a house plants if it can be reached in anyway. Unfortunately many common varieties of plant can be toxic which can leading to a stressful visit to the vets and intensive care if a rabbit show signs of discomfort after eating a dangerous plant.

Rabbits will try and eat most organic things and can’t tell if they are toxic.
Most of the plants rabbit encounter in there natural habitat are unlikely to be poisons and nutritious vegetation can be found in abundance. Unfortunately many of the more exotic house plans we have imported into our homes can be toxic which can poison an unsuspecting rabbit.
Don’t take any chances and make sure all your plans are 100% bunny proofed.
Its best to ensure all the plants in your home are bunny proof by simply moving the out of the reach of your rabbit. To be totally safe place them on shelf or other furniture. Always check for fallen leaves if they can be reached.
Place house plants out of reach or block of access to them to make them safe.
Moving your plants onto a high shelf or blocking them off behind a piece of furniture or block of access to them with wire fencing. This will stop the plant getting damaged from gnawing or the soil being disturbed by digging. Bunny rabbits can be quite resourceful when it comes to finding food so make sure you keep an eye on them in case they find an indirect way at getting to the plants.
Make areas under the plant where leaves could fall inaccessible to ensure safety.
Remember that falling leaves can also be a potential danger so always ensure that if they where to fall they would fall into an area that can’t be reached.
Remove any plants that you know to be toxic altogether to ensure total safety.
It’s unlikely that your local garden centre if going to be able to provide you with any guaranties as to weather a plant is non toxic. You can get lists of plant known to be toxic and its best to take some time to check through some of these lists, if you do find you have any of these plants that are known to be dangerous or deadly its best to remove them completely.
